Twitter, twitter, on the wall – who’s the fairest of them all? And whilst the answer is something I neither know nor particularly care about (my money’s on Debbie Harry circa 1978), the early signs are that the record gods have blessed 2013. An act of dark ju-ju, perhaps – girls and boys with analogue synths, thrift store guitars and a tunes lovingly borrowed from XTC b-sides…
Actually, that’s not an analogy that works; no matter. Twitterati Jukebox wants to know what you – the punters – are listening to, 2013 style. It’s not the case that this blog is beholden to a rather narrow tranche of recorded sound from the archives, but sometimes it sure feels like it; records spun, then spun again, the back catalogues splayed out, a past lashed to the present. When future sounds are equally as important (and far more dynamic, in a certain light). If contemporary chords have breached your perception in ways that demand sharing, tweet me at @lazerguidedblog. Leave a comment below the words. Or stand outside my apartment with large placards and an evil grin.
